In math, we are continuing to work on numbers from 1-20.


The next story for Reading is Little Quack by Lauren Thompson.  It will be an animal fantasy story.  The comprehension skill we will target is plot, or the “what happens part of the story”.

Our class's Santa Shop day is Tuesday, December 10.  Information will be coming home about this.

Kindergarten's field trip is Friday, December 13.  More information will be sent home shortly.

Our holiday concert will be held at the HS auditorium on Saturday, December 14.  Kindergarten sings at 10.

Students will need to be prepared for colder weather at recess.  Warm coats, gloves or mittens, hats and/or scarves are needed.  Recess is a half an hour and unless the ground is snow-covered or it is too cold we will try to get outside for “fresh-air”.  Please practice zipping zippers and putting on gloves with your child.

School will be closed Nov. 28-Dec. 2.  School will reopen Tuesday, December 3.

AR/Book Buddy recording sheets for November will be due back to school on Wednesday, November 27th.  Any student who reaches the goal of 15 books will receive a Pizza Hut Book It slip.  Pizza Hut coupons are on their way to NSE.

Please sign BOTH sides of your child's field trip permission form that is being sent home in their SPARTY folder.

The PBIS reward for November will be held on Wednesday, November 27.  Veteran's and members of our military will be visiting.

November 27 is a 12:00 dismissal.

We will be reading the story Little Panda by Joanne Ryder.  This is an informational text, and we will be talking about “Animals Grow and Change”.  The comprehension skill we will target is compare and contrast.  Many boys and girls may be interested in checking the live Panda Cam at the San Diego Zoo from home at the following website: http://www.sandiegozoo.org/pandacam/ Practice high frequency sight words daily! 


In math, we will continue working on reading, writing, and counting numbers from 1-20. 

There is a noon dismissal on Wednesday, November 27.

School will be closed Monday, November 11 in observance of Veteran's Day.

In Reading the next story will be Jack and the Beanstalk.  It is a modern fairy tale.  We will be discussing more with realism and fantasy. 

In math, we will begin comparing and ordering numbers from 11-20.  Please practice counting, recognizing, and writing numbers from 0-20.

Friday, November 15 is a Spartan Dress Down Day--donation $1.

The weather is quickly changing and the days are getting colder!  Be sure your child has a jacket, mittens or gloves, and a hat for recess. We try to get outside whenever possible—if dressed properly, the fresh air does us good!!!  Also, have your child practice putting on, taking off (pulling sleeves back out), and zipping/buttoning his/her coat.

Please sign and return your child's report card envelope as soon as possible.

Book orders are due Tuesday, November 12.
