In Phonics we will be learning the consonant “Ff” as in fish,
flower, and fun! Everybody is really trying their best on the word
lists and I am proud of the progress that they are making! Word List 5 was sent home and will be tested on Friday, December 7th.
Next week in Reading we will finish Unit 2 “Animals Live Here” and
read the story Whose Garden Is It? The gardener says the garden belongs
to him but the woodchuck insists that it's his! And so do the rabbit,
the butterfly, the squash bug, and the bumblebee! Even the tiny seeds
and whistling weeds think the garden just couldn't grow without them.
As they stroll through the plants and flowers, Mrs. McGee and her child
listen and wonder: Whose garden is it? We will be discussing gardens.
Students will learn about realism and fantasy.
In Math, we’ll explore and learn about Geoboards. We’ll also practice shapes, patterns, and pennies.
On Tuesday, November 27th, a letter to Santa came home with your
child. Please return this letter by Monday, December 3RD if you haven’t
done so already. Our favorite local postman, Eric Hughes, will pick up
our letters and take them directly to Santa at the North Pole next
week! Students might even get a letter back from the North Pole!
December book orders are due Thursday, December 6th.
Family and Friends are invited to attend the Christmas Concert
which will be held Monday, December 17th at 9:30 in the North Schuylkill
High School Auditorium. Kindergarteners have been practicing their
songs and are very excited to share them with you! Students are
expected to wear dress code approved clothes OR NICER! Girls may wear
Christmas dresses, skirts, etc. Boys can wear shirts, ties, Christmas
sweaters, etc. NO GYM CLOTHES!
