For Reading we will begin the story "The Little Engine That Could" by Watty Piper.  It is a classic fantasy story, and we will be talking about how trains move.  We will be learning more about short /u/ sound and the comprehension skill, plot.

In Math, we will begin working with Topic 12 Measurement.  In Topic 12 we will be comparing objects by length, height, capacity, and weight.  Review the new math words; longer, shorter, as tall as, taller, and lighter.

“A Child’s View” insert for Kindergarten will be printed with the Thursday, April 30^th edition of the Republican and Herald newspaper.  Our class’s entries and photo were included in this special edition.

NSE PTO will be having a Scholastic Book Fair from Monday, May 4^th through Friday, May 9^th.  Students will shop during their scheduled Library day.  There will also be a Parent Shopping Night on Monday, May 4^th from 4-7 pm.
