October 11-14
We will begin the story Dig, Dig, Digging in Reading.  We will be talking about how machines help people.  We will be practicing the sound /t/ for the letter Tt and the skill classifying and categorizing.  Continue to review the high frequency words; I, am, the, little, to, and a when you read together.

For Math we will finish Topic 16 and begin Topic 1:  One to Five.  Students will learn how to read, write, and count numbers from 1-5.  Be sure to review the daily practice pages!

Oct. 9-15 is Fire Prevention Week
so please take some time at home to discuss fire safety with your child and family.  Be sure to have a practice fire drill and create an escape plan with a designated meeting place.

Wednesday, October 12th will be our monthly 2 Hour Data Delay Day. Remember Data Delay days are NON ROTATION days for special classes.

Diane Rowland, will visit with our class on Thursday, October 13th.  She will be speaking with the children about Drugs and Alcohol in preparation for the annual Red Ribbon Week, which will be held the last week of October.  Take some time to ask your child what he/she learned and/or discussed at school that day!

Lunch for Life is a 3-day event, being held on Tuesday, October 11, Wednesday, October 12, and Thursday, October 13, to welcome the Kindergarten students to try a complimentary lunch.  Details were sent home earlier in your child’s folder.  (Any questions of concerns, please contact Kim Shatalsky @ 570-84-0466 Ext. 2124 or kshatalsky@northschuylkill.net)
