October 9-12
There is no school for students on Monday, October 8

As we begin our second month of school, you and your child should be practicing the following things daily:
--sight words
--orally counting from 1-100
--writing numbers from 0-10

We will begin the story Dig, Dig, Digging in Reading.  We will be talking about how machines help people.  We will be practicing the skill classifying and categorizing. Continue to review the high frequency words; I, am, the, little, to, and a when you read together.

In math we will begin discussing shapes, including circles, triangles, rectangles and squares.

Oct. 7-13 is Fire Prevention Week so please take some time at home to discuss fire safety with your child and family.  Be sure to have a practice fire drill and create an escape plan with a designated meeting place.

If you didn't hand in your child's $3 for the Fall Festival, please do so ASAP.

Book orders are due Friday, October 12.

Our field trip is on Thursday, October 11.  More information will be sent home next week.

October 9-12 is Spirit Week. There will be a pep rally on Friday morning in the elementary gym.

With the cold weather arriving, please practice putting on coats, and zipping or buttoning them.
