Show and Tell-- Letter Ll.  Please have your child find something small at home that begins with L.  Place in paper bag and send to school for Thursday.  All items will be returned on Thursday.

Reminder: Thursday is our Luau! Kindergarten Students are asked to dress tropical: bright colors, floral prints, Hawaiian shirts, etc.  Students do not have to follow the school dress code on Thursday.

Please return any papers from the nurse, emergency phone numbers, and internet permission forms as soon as possible.

If your child is scheduled to bring in a snack, we have 23 students participating.  Please remember to send in spoons, napkins, etc. for puddings, apple sauces, etc.
We started math this week and our students really enjoy it!  Their favorite part of the lesson is learning the song that we sing to practice the correct way to write numbers.  Ask your child to sing the song for you!

This week we began learning the letter Ll as in lion, lemonade, and lizard.  Please review the letter and sound with your child at home.  On Thursday, September 8th, Kindergarten will have a Luau!  Students are asked to dress tropical: bright colors, floral prints, Hawaiian shirts, etc.  Please remember this is only for Kindergarten students.
In Reading, we read the book “The Little School Bus” and discussed characters.  We also learned 6 amazing words: first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth

Try to make sure your child has his/her bus tag every day.  The end of the day is hectic and some children don’t know their bus numbers yet!

Every Friday of the school year is a spirit day!  This is completely optional!  It is done to promote school spirit and enthusiasm for our sports teams.  The children are allowed to wear any North Schuylkill t-shirt and uniform pants or uniform shorts (please see p. 5 of the student dress code.)  The children may dress in regular uniform clothing if you wish.
School pictures will be taken on Friday, September 9th.  Please be sure to return your child’s envelope as soon as possible!
We had a fabulous first week of Kindergarten and are thrilled to have your child in our class!  We hope that he/she enjoyed their first week as much as we did and are looking forward to returning to school on Tuesday!!!!
