In Phonics we will be learning about the consonant “Ww” as in water, walrus, and wagon.  On Wednesday we’ll celebrate “Watery Wednesday” and do lots of fun activities to learn about water!
To go along with our letter Ww, we will have Wacky Hair Day on Friday, March 28th.  Start thinking about a wacky hairstyle for the day.  Remember boys and girls with short hair can always wear WIGS—they are wacky too!!!
For Math we will continue with Topic 9; Composing and Decomposing Numbers to 10.  Students will decompose numbers less than or equal to 10 into pairs in more than one way, will find the number for any number from 1-9 that makes 10 when added to the given number, and will classify objects into given categories; count the numbers of objects in each category and sort the categories by count.  Review practice pages as they come home in the folder.
Kindergarten Graduation pictures will be taken Thursday, April 3rd. All students must wear a white collared shirt and girls need to wear their hair down. Every student will have their picture taken even if you are not purchasing a package.Package information was sent home earlier last week.

This week in Reading we’ll read “Abuela.” This fictional book is narrated by a Hispanic-American child who imagines she's rising into the air over the park and flying away with her loving, abuela (grandmother). From the air, they see Manhattan streets, docks, an airport, and tourist attractions. We will be discussing city adventures. Students will learn about setting. Please be sure to review your Family Times when it comes home this week.

We are trying to get students outside for recess as much as possible! Please be sure that your child has a warm jacket, gloves, and hat!

Kindergarten physicals are on Thursday, April 10th. Students who are receiving a physical were sent a form from the nurse.
