April 3-7
For Reading we will continue with the next story in Unit 5 Trucks Roll!  It is a non-fiction, rhyming story and we will be talking about forms of transportation.  The comprehension skill we will focus on with this story is compare and contrast and we will work with the initial and medial short vowel sound /u/.

United States’ reports will begin on Friday, April 7th! Be sure to have your practice presenting the facts to you at home.  It will be fun to learn about many of our Nifty, Fifty United States!

In Math, we will begin Topic 10, Composing Numbers 11-19.   Practice making numbers 11-19 and continue to review addition and subtraction. Take some time to review daily work mats.

The April PTO meeting will be held on Monday, April 3rd and it will start at 6:30.  All are invited and encouraged to attend!!

Students in Grades 3-6 will be taking the PSSA tests next week.  Kindergarten’s schedule will be switched around T-F, 4/4-4/7.  Special classes will be 9:00-9:45 instead of 2:00-2:45. Please talk to your child about being quiet while in the hallways during testing days!!

Kindergarten Graduation Pictures will be taken on Thursday, April 20th.  (There will be NO make-up picture day.)  Envelopes will be sent home with portrait package information next week.  If interested in purchasing pictures then please return the money BEFORE Wednesday, April 19th in your child’s folder.  (Cash or checks made payable to PSP.)  All students will be photographed for the class photo and will need a WHITE COLLARED shirt to wear under a graduation gown.  Girls should not have ponytails high on their heads or wear big hair accessories since they will be wearing a graduation cap

FYI:  Kindergarten Graduation will be held on Tuesday, May 23rd at 1:00 PM in the high school auditorium.

Thank you to ALL who generously donated to our class’ Chinese Auction basket/bin for the PTO Spring Fling Auction coming up on April 8-April 9.  Our "Let's Do Coffee" theme is turning out GREAT! Be sure to take a chance or more on winning it!  Remember, the Kindergarten class with the most tickets gets an Ice Cream Party!!
