Please continue to practice:
--counting to 100
--word lists (tested every Friday)
--writing numbers 0-20

In Reading we will begin the new story A Bed for the Winter by Karen Wallace.  It will be an informational text.  We will discuss Fiction and Non-Fiction, winter homes, and work on the comprehension skill, sequence.

In Math, we will start Topic 2 with comparing and ordering 0-5.  We will compare using more, fewer, and same as and learn ordinal numbers through fifth.

Friday, 11/17 will be a dress down day to honor our Veterans.  Participating students are to donate one or more items from the list that was sent home on Wed. 11/8 for care packages!  If your child does not bring a donation, he/she should not dress down.  Thank you in advance for your participation.

We will begin preparing for “Thanksgiving”.  During the next two weeks, students will learn about the first Thanksgiving, will make pilgrim and Native American/Indian costumes, and will begin to learn a poem or song for the holiday.  We will make a Thanksgiving bracelet and will also discuss being “thankful”.  The students will even get to use a Native American name for a day!

The 1st Trimester will end on Tues. November 21st.  Report cards are scheduled to be sent home on Friday, Dec. 8th
Thursday, November 22nd will be an early dismissal day @ 12:00.  Students who earn 4 stamps for their PBIS card will also be rewarded on 11/22.  Encourage S-P-AR-T-Y behavior!!!  PLEASE NOTE--THIS WILL BE A NON-ROTATION DAY--no special class!
FYI:  The NS Student Council is sponsoring the Feed-a-Friend campaign in our school district.  The campaign will continue until Tues. November 14th.  We are collecting both non-perishable food and monetary donations to help less fortunate people in Schuylkill County enjoy a holiday dinner.  Student council representatives will be taking our donations to the Salvation Army in Pottsville on Wed. 11/15.
