Friday-Picture Day--

School pictures will be taken on Friday, September 12^th. Please be sure to return your child’s envelope as soon as possible!  School dress code must be followed.

Please be sure to encourage your child to write their name the proper way. Students should NOT write their name in all capitals. We understand that some students need practice writing it the correct way, but the first step in helping is making sure we are consistent at home and at school.

It is starting to get chilly, please remember to send a jacket with your child.  Practice zipping and buttoning with them.  Also make sure your child's name is written somewhere on the jacket.

Please return the PTO fieldtrip FREE t-shirt form by Friday.  Children wear these shirts for this year's and next year's fieldtrip.

In math we are discussing positions (above, below, on, inside, outside)

We will begin our 2^nd Reading story, We Are So Proud. We will work on recognizing the letters Ff, Gg, Hh, Ii, Jj, Kk, Ll, Mm. and Nn. Watch for your take home story—Am I?, to come home in your child’s folder.  Continue to read at home, talk about story characters (who the story is about) and setting (where and when the story takes place), and read the high frequency words I and am.

There will be a Kindergarten Fall Festival planning meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 10^th @ 2:00 pm in the NSE cafeteria.  Anyone interested in helping with the Kindergarten Fall Festival, which will be held on Thursday, October 9^th, is invited to attend the planning meeting.  The meeting may run until the end of the school day.  (Just a reminder:  In order to help at the Fall Festival you must have clearances!!)  **If you would like to help, but are unable to attend this meeting, please send a note to the teacher with your contact information listed, and your name and contact information will be passed along to the other parents who will be helping with the Fall Festival.
