Monday, October 20th will be Day 4-Art, and students will be painting, so please do not send your child to school
in NEW clothes. Mrs. Zink suggests
that your send an old shirt to school to be used as a painting smock. It will be kept in school all year to
use in art class.
For Reading we will finish the story "Dig, Dig, Digging". Please review the high frequency words; I, am, the, little, to, a, have and is. We will be learning the vowel letter Aa
as in apple and acorn. We will
focus on the short vowel sound. Don’t forget to practice ALL sight word flashcards daily!!!
·
In Math we will be counting sets of objects to 5,
writing numbers 1-5, comparing sets, and representing numbers to 5. Take some time to review daily
worksheets!!!
·
We are currently collecting money for the scheduled
classroom parties (Halloween and Valentine). Please send in $5.00 in an envelope with your child’s name
and classroom and mark “Party Money” on the outside of the envelope. Thank You!
·
Friday, October 31st will be our classroom
Halloween party and school-wide parade. Students are NOT to wear costumes to school!!! Costumes should be sent to school that
day in a bag with student’s name on the outside. Students will get dressed in costumes with the help of
teachers and homeroom helpers.
Keep in mind students will be dressing at school, so keep costumes as
simple as possible; (No spraying
hair at school, or a face full of make-up at school). More details will be
sent home in future newsletters.
·
Mark your calendar for Picture Re-take Day on Thursday,
October 23rd.
Anyone who had been absent on Picture Day in September is asked to be
photographed on re-take day. Also
anyone NOT happy with photos from Picture Day may return the complete package
of photos and have his/her photo retaken.
·
Parent/teacher
conferences will be held on Monday, November 10th. More information will be sent home.
·
Thank you to the parents/grandparents who helped with
the Fall Festival. Your help was greatly appreciated; without YOU we couldn’t
