October 21-25
As we begin to finish our second month of school, you and your child should be practicing the following things daily:
--sight words
--orally counting from 1-100
--writing numbers from 0-20

In Reading we will read the book Animal Babies in Grasslands by Jennifer Schofield. We will be talking about grassland animals, and practice the comprehension skill main idea.  The words we, my, and like will be introduced as new high frequency words.

In math, we will continue working on reading, counting and writing numbers 0-5.

Red Ribbon week is from October 23-31.  Please follow the pamphlet in your child's SPARTY for the week's activities.

Be sure your child has a jacket, mittens or gloves, and a hat for recess. We try to get outside whenever possible—if dressed properly, the fresh air does us good!!!  Also, have your child practice putting on, taking off (pulling sleeves back out), and zipping/buttoning his/her coat.

AR/Book Buddy recording sheets for October are due on Friday, November
1.  Any student who reaches or exceeds the goal of 15 or more books will
receive a PIZZA HUT BOOK IT coupon!

If you haven't turned in your child's $5 party money, please send it in as soon as possible.

All information concerning the Halloween celebration is on a pamphlet in your child's SPARTY folder.
